Removing diesel injectors is one thing, but removing the washers without damaging the injector recess or cylinder head is another. Having the right tool in these situations can save you from accidental damage and hours of frustration.
Even after the diesel injector is removed, cleaned and a new copper washer fitted it may not always rectify the problem. Often the seat of the injector has been damaged due to erosion from escaping combustion gases. The only way to reface the seat is gently reface the seat in the cylinder head. It is important to ensure that the seat is cut perpendicular and clean before re-inserting an injector.
